ybor cops get bad guys
tommyLast weekend, a bad guy tried to rob a Ybor City business owner, but the cops showed up and stopped the perps. This past Friday night, six teens attacked and robbed some folks in Ybor City, but the cops caught and arrested all of them. On Saturday, a fight that started in an Ybor City nightclub ended in a shooting on the streets of Ybor City, but the cops got that guy too.
I just can’t understand why Ybor has a bad reputation. The cops always catch the bad guys, but visitors are still scared.

I live in Ybor and love it. Even though the recent crime has deterred me from walking around alone at night.

You should not walk alone anywhere. Fights break out in bars all the time, even the ones not in Ybor. Shootings happen in bar parking lots outside of Ybor as well. Ybor gets more publicity when something does happen than other bars. I will say 3 strikes in a row does hit hard but things usually happen in three’s, right? I have gone to Ybor for over 10 years now and have only seen two fist fights. I did have my purse snatched one New Year’s eve but that also happened at a bar outside Ybor one night. My point is this stuff happens everywhere, be careful and know your surroundings. Walk in groups and don’t leave friends behind when they get wasted. This goes for anywhere you go becasue 2007 is not 1950.
