Uh oh…. Looks like Scott Harrell included one too many references to Nessie. Or not. Anyway, for you writers out there, Creative Loafing is looking for a music reviewer:

Description:
Creative Loafing, Tampa’s alternative newsweekly, seeks a staff writer with a strong background in music-writing to join our creative, award-winning editorial team. The position requires wide knowledge of the music scene both nationally and in Tampa Bay and the Southeast; the ability to write with authority and flair on all genres, from hip-hop to alt-country, from Britney to Bach; and solid experience not just as a critic but as a reporter. While the first responsibility of the writer in this position will be music coverage, including band profiles, trend pieces and CD reviews, the position also includes writing opportunities in other areas as well. Versatility, initiative and proven reporting chops are a key. Send a cover letter, resume and 3-5 clips to jobs@cln.com.

That all sounds so professional.

For those of you who like to listen to music, want to support local musicians, but don’t have any knowledge of the music scene, no experience as a critic, a writer, or a reporter, yet possess the ability to form words to make basic sentences, sticks is the place for you. Contact me and we’ll give you a platform!

remember Creative Loafing music critic Robert Mortellaro? read about him here:
    http://www.bpnews.net/bpnews.asp?ID=3896
Rachel Lindhome was in an AOL chat room last year when she received a message from Robert Mortellaro, a 34-year-old Florida resident.
Mortellaro asked if she wanted to see pictures of child pornography, and he recounted having sex with a 10-year-old girl.
“All of a sudden my heart stopped,” said Lindhome, a 27-year-old telemarketer, in a story in the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune.
Lindhome contacted an attorney, and that led to FBI involvement.
Mortellaro sent 70 pictures which included bestiality and sex with infants. Police arrested the man at a Vero Beach mall when he tried to meet a 13-year-old girl from the Internet.
Here’s some text from the Trib 3-29-97:
“TAMPA - Rachel Lindhome’s contact with the Internet began when she used electronic mail to keep in touch with friends and relatives.
That investigation took Lindhome into the darker side of the Internet - a place where she found adults who used child pornography to lure children and other adults into having sex.
The two stressful months helping the federal government build a case against 34-year-old Robert A. Mortellaro haven’t kept her away from the Internet. And she said she would do it again - for the sake of her two children.”
ALSO, I have always wondered what the truth is about CL writer’s Eric Snider’s departure from the St Pete Times. The rumors (sexual harassment of an underage female intern) are very disturbing.
I thought Harrell (Ravis Harnell ROCKS!) is or was the best one they’ve had, by far. If it werent for him. I’d say they’re all a bunch of sicko pervs, and coming from a crack ho, thats a hell of a statement.

Last month, part of my sign on bonus at the Loaf was getting to be his co-worker. For about 3 and a half weeks. He’s since moved on his merry new way. [...]

Dug Scott Harrell’s work and sorry to see him go. Don’t see what Robert Mortellaro has to do with a job opening at Creative Loafing.
