WOOHOO! I have to agree with the verdict, he was robbed at gunpoint and his life was in danger.

are you people serious? it was not up to storer to be judge, jury and executioner..why the hell didn’t he just wait for the police to arrive…after the robber left his life WAS NO LONGER in danger…

So what exactly is the time limit for a victim to go out and run their assailant down? Is it just a few minutes, or do they get a day or two to think it over?

I’m not so sure about the precedent set here.

I ma still pretty upset over my truck being stolen, is it justified if I track down the guy and hit him with my new truck? Or is that just ironic?

The store owner had a f*ckin’ GUN to his head. I would imagine that adrenaline would be pumping high for quite a while.

There is no precedent. The jury came to their decision based on the facts of this case. In a similar situation, I’m certain a jury will take the length of time into consideration.

    >Is it just a few minutes…?

Sure, just a few minutes. Time starts from the moment they take the gun off of you.

I think the real question is… does this mean I get to shoot someone after they take their gun off of me? Or will they just shoot me to keep that from happening?

If I was the local DA I would have prosecuted this case. (But hated myself for having to do it)
