Tampa Premiere of Documentary About Local Doctor
For the last 23 years, Tampa native Dr. Anthony Lazzara, Jr. has served those living in the poor villages at the foothills of the mountains of Peru through his Villa La Paz Center (translated in English, it means “House of Peace”). His experiences have been captured in a documentary titled The Patients of a Saint, which premieres in Tampa at Muvico Centro Ybor on November 12th.
The screening is at 4 p.m. and will be followed by dinner at the Italian Club. Tickets are $100 (includes film and dinner). Funds raised from this event will go to Villa La Paz and help support its mission.

Those interested in this documentary may also be interested in one about Wal Mart that is coming up. Here’s the link if you would like to check it out. http://action.bravenewfilms.org/event/wm_screening.jsp?event_KEY=5580&track=

Both documentaries sound interesting, don’t they? “Wal-Mart:The High Cost of Low Price” is showing at USF on November 18th, among other places.

Hey, film fan, why don’t you use your pull to see if you can get a screening at a normal price? Might be kinda cool!

I don’t know that I have any “pull” but I’m going to the screening Saturday, so I’ll ask. I’ll let you know what I find out.

You can order your own copy of “The Patients of a Saint” at http://www.sandamianofoundation.org.
A donation of $30 is asked…since this is non-profit organization.
But a screening locally at a lesser price would be fine, too. if somone can arrange it. Thanks.
