your turn

First the Tribune found their “Community Columnists.” The Weekly Planet publishes “First Person Singular.” Now, the St. Pete Times gets in on the trend with It’s Your Times. Goodness, it seems that anyone with a keyboard can be published on the internet. Heh. How can we bloggers gonna keep up with the MSM?

By taking their ideas, that’s how.

Sticks of Fire is proud to announce the First Person Community Times contest. That’s right! Good ol’ tommy is going to offer you a chance to have your work published by a major local news organization. Or by Sticks of Fire. But definitely one of the two.

Sticks of Fire spotlights Tampa and Tampa Bay. Your submitted articles should also have that same local focus. Other than that, there are no restrictions (but remember, I don’t want to read an entire book), and no guarantees. The best (I’m the only judge!) will be highlighted here sometime in the very near future. If you’re interested, email your masterpiece to me by clicking right here.

Thinking about moving back to Tampa just so I can have something interesting to poke at besides racism, dog fighting, bad neighbors and an entire county up for sale (Pasco. Word here is a buck will pretty much buy you anyone).
    Sigh.
